A Love Story at Fort Myer | Arlington VA Wedding Photographers
Alina and James first met in 2004 when they were co-counselors at a summer camp in Northern Virginia. Since their first meeting, they remained friends for several years; however, they didn’t start dating until December of 2015, over 10 years later. Their first “date” was actually a hangout as friends over lunch, but they ended it as an actual date watching Star Wars Episode 7 in the theater. After dating a year and a half, the couple became engaged on a very windy day at Alina’s family beach house in South Bethany, Delaware. And all of this led to their beautiful wedding day at Fort Myer | Arlington VA Wedding Photographers.
The couple chose to hold their ceremony at the Fort Myer Old Post Chapel. The interior of the chapel is stunning and classically elegant, such a perfect representation of this couple. The white walls and dark wood accents complement each other beautifully. The stained glass windows above the altar provide such old world charm. After the ‘I Do’s, the couple grabbed some photos with their wedding party and family. We captured some pictures of the newlyweds grabbing a few moments alone together as well. They wanted to take a stroll together, hand in hand, and soak in the moment.
The reception was held at the Patton Hall Officers Club at Fort Myer. The room was absolutely stunning. From the white linen table cloths, gold chairs, beautiful floral arrangements, and the enchanting chandeliers, the room was breathtaking. The bride and groom showed off their dancing skills with their first dance as husband and wife, and then it was time for the bride to dance with her father. After the formal dances commenced, speeches were made, and the cake was cut, it was time for everyone to hit the dance floor. Family and friends alike had a blast dancing well into the evening. Congratulations, Alina and James!
