Cherry Blossom Engagement Photography at Smithsonian Castle, DC

It’s officially Cherry Blossom season in Washington DC! We love this time of the year and so do our clients. The full, pink-petaled trees look like something from a dream, and the gorgeous trees line almost every walkway in DC during springtime. Their beauty is short-lasting, but we sure appreciate it while it’s here! We can always anticipate and look forward to the many engagement sessions, surprise marriage proposals and weddings that we get to capture in early April when those lovely pink blossoms start to pop! We can’t imagine a more romantic backdrop for such an occasion.

About This Engagement Session

For this post, we are featuring one of our sweetest couples, Courtney and Kenny, who actually just tied the knot a few weeks ago! Congratulations, you two! As their Washington DC cherry blossom engagement photographers, we brought them to the Smithsonian Castle, which is one of our favorite locations this time of year. Cherry blossoms and dreamy magnolia trees line the paths that wind through the property, and the tall red-brick walls and points on the castle look stunning against the vibrant green grass and blue skies. After such a long winter, we can’t get enough of this springtime backdrop.

True to our photojournalistic style, we had so much fun capturing this lovely couple as they meandered their way around the castle hand in hand and danced blissfully in the plaza. They were enjoying the moment so much it was as if the photographer wasn’t even there—just as it should be. What a beautiful engagement session!
