Nadia and Mark’s engagement session took place at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. The couple met at work and spent time together at various marketing events before dating. Mark later told Nadia that he didn’t typically attend those types of events, but decided to show up since Nadia would be there.
How and where did you get engaged?
“We got engaged at V. Sattui Winery in Napa Valley. We just finished our wine tasting and heard from several people that it was a great area to do a picnic lunch. We had just secured a private spot under a tree for a picnic when Mark proposed. He had it planned perfectly, I was so surprised. He had been carrying the ring in his sock instead of his pocket so I wouldn’t notice. He had a photographer there to capture the moment. It was perfect…he even got my parent’s blessing beforehand.”
“A Fusion Wedding – American/South Asian. Modern and elegant with some spunkiness thrown in for good measure.”

“There are so many wonderful things about Mark; it’s hard to pick just one. He is incredibly thoughtful and giving. He always has these creative ideas and is so spontaneous; I am always amazed by him. For example, when we were first dating I told him a story about my mom giving away all my Halloween candy after I fell asleep because they ran out. Sometime later I asked to borrow his hiking pack and when he gave it to me it had a huge bag of Halloween candy in it. It was March and he found an actual pumpkin bag to put the candy in.”

“Nadia always takes the time to stop and appreciate the little things. For example, when we go on a hike she stops to look at the trees, rocks and butterflies. While most people just focus on getting to the top, she enjoys and appreciates the view. Also, dimples. She has dimples that only come out when she’s wearing a truly happy smile. I’ve seen them a lot over the last several years.”
