Woodend Sanctuary Maryland Wedding Photographer

As one of the most scenic states, Maryland has it all. The small state is packed to the brim with gorgeous views. It doesn’t take long to travel from the mountainous west, over the rolling green hills that turn vibrant red and orange in the fall, and on down to Chesapeake Bay’s Atlantic coastline. Also in the mix, pastoral farmland and romantic vineyards span as far as the eye can see in some parts. No matter where you are in the state, it’s just a short drive into DC. What more could you ask for? Forget “Virginia is for Lovers”—the sign should say Maryland.

So now that you’ve settled on marrying in Maryland, what venue has the best display of natural beauty? Maryland Wedding Photographer Rodney Bailey holds the Woodend Sanctuary and Mansion as one of the top places to say, “I do!”

About the venue

Huge shade trees of every kind fill the backdrop. Natural light floods in between the branches, creating ethereal photos and enhancing the magic of your big day. Guests can sit comfortably in chairs out on the lush green lawn as you walk down the aisle to meet your other half under the wedding arch. What a spectacular view!

The property offers several secluded alcoves tucked in between the blooms for intimate First Look photos. Or for the wilder at heart, take some breathtaking portraits out in a field of tall grasses and wildflowers. Inside, the mansion has gorgeous staircases, antique chandeliers, and huge floor-to-ceiling windows streaming with natural sunlight. The options are endless. Many couples opt for an outdoor ceremony among the trees and then head inside the mansion for cocktails, a sit-down dinner, and an evening of dancing.

Whatever you choose, we hope your day is better than you could have ever imagined, and our team of Maryland photographers would be honored to capture the beauty in the details for you.
